The Seminole Education goal is to foster the development of every Seminole child and adult through education, culture, and language. Through the Seminole Tribe of Florida and Bureau of Indian Affairs funding, this department offers the opportunity to afford the highest quality education to our Tribal Members, from kindergarten to post-graduate schooling. Seminole Education provides an opportunity for each Tribal Member to prepare for career and leadership roles, while maintaining their rich cultural heritage. The services and support provided within the Seminole Education include: Private school scholarship and college preparation for K-12 students, Higher Education scholarship and career preparation for the adult population, opportunities for vocational and technical training, General Education Diploma (GED) tutoring and assessment, Work Experience for youth and adults, private tutoring services, and Library Services to all Tribal Members.
Seminole Education is committed to helping every Seminole Tribal citizen in becoming a strong, self-sufficient individual. To assist in this purpose, we seek to provide educational programs and opportunities that strengthen the Tribal identity of the individual while at the same time strengthening their ability to successfully subsist in today’s society. Self-sufficiency of the individual also means self-sufficiency of the Tribe as a whole, which requires each Tribal citizen to attain high levels of formal education.
