Kerlande Patterson
CSSS Tribal Professional Development Supervisor
“I am really glad that my professional and educational journey brought me here to the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Center for Student Success and Services in 2016. I have been working in education, on some level, since I was 14 years old, and this feels like the natural next step.
It is a pleasure to lead my team in assisting Tribal members with figuring out their career goals, and walking alongside them as they either get a brief introduction of the workforce through the Student Work Experience Program (SWEP), or more advanced experience through the Work Experience Program (WEP) and Advanced Career Development (ACD). I consider Tribal Professional Development (TPD) successful when I see a Tribal member, years later, still employed with the Tribe and moving up within the ranks of their department.
I look forward to providing gentle coaching and having a hand in developing the future leaders of the Tribe. As the TPD Supervisor, I feel privileged to be here years later.”
Hobbies: Reading, writing and obsessing over places I’ll probably never visit.
